In his book Cowboy Ethics James P. Owen points out how in these tough financial times the financial institutions could learn a lot from the ethical standard of the American Cowboy, not as a corporate body but for each individual working together to make honest and straight forward choices, and maybe most of all to do good.
It goes like this:
Live Each Day with Courage
Take Pride in Your Work
Always Finish What You Start
Do What Has to Be Done
Be Tough, But Fair
When You make A Promise, Keep It
Ride For the Brand
Talk Less and Say More
Remember that Somethings Aren't For Sale
Know Where to Draw the Line
In truth we all could apply this to our individual lives and get a more harmonious outcome despite the money or lack of it that comes along with it.
